Report on the North County IT Symposium 2011:
Financials:
Sponsorships and Registration Fees: $750.00
County Budget: $5,000.00
Expenses for NCIS: $6500.00
Food gets paid from the Registration & Sponsorships fees:
I believe we have around $1500.00 left in our budget
We had 50 responses to the survey with great feedback
Interest in speaking
Exhibitors were very happy with the setup, agenda and the people that were there
Carrie - is going to google aps session – was great
Jeff – Tailor presentations just for local government
Schools:
Media interest
Some kind of a contest for the High School/College
Jill can help with their papers
Pat Turbett:
Someone to sponsor a scholarship to a promising IT Student, student must enter an essay
Continuing with BOCES kids
Jeff - suggested Robotics - Laura will speak to Rochelle to see what they can help with next year in the Robotics
Old Business:
Talking about an Event Coordinator

Create a budget line item to have someone do the planning for this event

We have $5,000.00 from the County for a Budget

A Legislator is appointed to our IT Advisory Board is Steve Putnam
The IT Advisory Board should try to go to a Budget Meeting to fight for our Board Budget

This bill was passed through the Assembly
Cindy Goliber going against this bill, she is the State Leader
There is a training issue with this procedure
We need to find out was is at the root of their resistance for this bill
