This is a reminder to some and an announcement to others:

The St. Lawrence Board of Legislators will hear a brief presentation of our committee’s IT Strategic Plan at their Operations Committee meeting on May 11th at 5:00 pm in the Board of Legislators Chambers on Court St, Canton.  The goal of the presentation is to encourage the BOL by resolution to adopt this plan as St. Lawrence County’s IT strategic plan.  At our committee meeting last week, Marc Rusch, Helene Mellon, Laura Perry and Carrie Tuttle were identified as presenters.  All committee members and plan contributors are encouraged to attend the meeting to show support of these efforts.  We are first on the agenda, so plan to arrive a few minutes prior to 5pm and anticipate being able to leave by 5:30pm.

I’ve attached the brief outline we can use to flesh out our comments.  I propose that the four presenters identify a time we can talk by conference call in order to prepare.   I am available 1:30 – 3:00 pm, 5/5, 5/6, or 5/7.  Please let me know if any of those times/days work for each of you.

If there are any other thoughts of suggestions, please forward them to me.  Thanks, Laura

RE: May 11- Present Strategic Plan

Laura –

I am available to meet in Potsdam on 5/5 at 1:30 or could do a conference call on 5/6. 5/7 is not good for me.

Thanks,
Carrie

Hi Laura,
Attached is an interesting paper about the Broadband Stimulus Implementation
written by a Quest executive. It contains some good info, thought the
committee might be interested in seeing it.

Good Morning,

I thought this was an interesting article, especially looking at where the US is for broadband coverage:

Median Download Speed:

Japan                                                    63Mbps

South Korea                                       49Mbps

France                                                  17Mbps

Canada                                                 7.6Mpbs

USA                                                       2.3Mpbs

Yikes!
