Name:
St. Lawrence County Information Technology Advisory Committee

The IT Advisory Committee will aim to set a new pace for technology adoption and development in St. Lawrence County by providing resources and insight on issues involving telecommunications and information technologies.

Objective:
To move St. Lawrence County towards an Information Technology based community

Goal:

  • Improve broadband service availability to RURAL businesses and residents in SLC
  • Grow Information Technology industry sector employment in SLC
  • Improve service to taxpayers through recommendations to Legislators

Role:

  • Evaluate available public resources, prioritize need, and make recommendations for allocating resources.
  • Make recommendations for public policy when it comes to telecom development by public and quasi-public entities in St. Lawrence County
  • Provide input and data to Board of Legislators on how St. Lawrence County government uses information technology. Committee will develop objectives, provide resources, make recommendations for investments in IT, i.e. website technologies, communications systems
  • Provide counsel to St. Lawrence County economic development professionals for programs which will grow information technology industry sector employment

Membership (minimum requirements):

  • Members are full-time residents of St. Lawrence County
  • Members have a professional or personal interest in information technology in St. Lawrence County
  • At minimum, each of the 15 county legislative districts in St. Lawrence County Committee will be represented by an individual with his/her primary residence in such district.
